At
a small office in Hong Kong, IDT founder Dr. Raymond
Chan worked tirelessly to design, develop and market
the first LCD alarm clock in Hong Kong. By today's
standards, this may seem like a small achievement,
but in 1977 this was a hugely impressive and innovative
breakthrough. Since then, IDT has become a worldwide
leader in the design, manufacturing, engineering,
marketing and distribution of electronic lifestyle
products.
Here is a brief timeline of IDT's
history and milestones:
1977
IDT is founded by our Chairman, Dr.
Raymond Chan, to market watches and clocks using
newly created LCDs and microprocessor technology.
IDT designs, develops and produces
the first alarm clock with an LCD screen.
1979
IDT launches the world’s first jumbo-display
digital stopwatch.
